Amateur radio station on the ISS to include digital TV

The Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) organization and d by AMSAT-Italy will place a digital TV system on the Station this year to “provide one-way video and audio from the ISS to complement the FM radio voice link used for ARISS school group radio contacts”:

Kronos Quartet talks about Sun Rings on Planetary Radio

The Kronos Quartet recently discussed on  Planetary Radio the Sun Rings musical venture they created with composer Terry Riley : Sun Rings: Music of the Spheres From the Kronos Quartet – The Planetary Society.

The work, which premiered in 2002, combines the Quartet’s instrumental playing with actual sounds from space recorded by Dr. Don Gurnett at the University of Iowa.
