Kronos Quartet talks about Sun Rings on Planetary Radio

The Kronos Quartet recently discussed on  Planetary Radio the Sun Rings musical venture they created with composer Terry Riley : Sun Rings: Music of the Spheres From the Kronos Quartet – The Planetary Society.

The work, which premiered in 2002, combines the Quartet’s instrumental playing with actual sounds from space recorded by Dr. Don Gurnett at the University of Iowa.

SciShow: Kickstarting a Space Telescope?!

As of mid-day June 2nd, the Planetary Resources crowdfunding campaign for a publicly accessible space telescope (see earlier post here) has reached over $650k and nearly 6700 backers in just 4 days in pursuit of its $1M goal: ARKYD: A Space Telescope for Everyone by Planetary Resources — Kickstarter.
