3. Friday, August 2, 2013, 9:30-11 AM PDT (11:30- 1 PM CDT, 12:30PM-2:00 PM EDT): We welcome Australian space enthusiast Trent Waddington who came here for the NewSpace Conference and more. Trent will discuss the conference with us, space in Australia, and much more. Trent is also a Space Show listener and he frequently calls us or sends emails with comments/questions.

4. Sunday, 2013, 12-1:30 PM PDT (3-4:30 PM EDT, 2-3:30 PM CDT). We welcome back SARA HOWARD regarding her new Apollo and space history book, Mischief at Michoud.

Space on The John Batchelor Show: Bob Zimmerman + Hotel Mars

In Bob Zimmerman‘s latest visit on the John Batchelor radio program, he spoke about the following topics:

Thurs 7/25/13 Hour 3 –  John Batchelor Show
1. The effort to fix Kepler does not look good.
2. Orion parachute drop test a success.
3. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon all show better than expected profits despite sequestration.
4. Hints that Congress is finally beginning to realize that commercial space is the way to go.

Bob also recorded a segment for an upcoming program, perhaps to be broadcast this weekend, in which he discussed the following topics:
1. The pale blue dot, as seen from Saturn and Mercury.
2. More climate fraud: the routine lowering of past climate data to make today’s temperatures seem hotter.
3. Pro-global warming scientists, called to testify by Barbara Boxer, are forced to admit the temperature stopped rising 10-15 years ago.
4. The explanation for why the climate hasn’t warmed these past 10 years: the heat is hiding!

  1. Spacesuit soap opera: NASA still doesn’t know what caused the leak, and is rushing spare parts to Russia to try to get them on a Progress scheduled for launch Saturday.
  2. One of the salvaged Saturn 5 engines from the bottom of the Atlantic has been confirmed to come from Apollo 11.
  3. Boeing unveils the interior of its CST-100 manned capsule.
  4. SpaceX confirms that they will use their new upgraded engines on their first commercial launch of the Falcon 9 Sept 5.
  5. The continuing problems of the James Webb Space Telescope.
