Apollo 11 lunar landing anniversary

46 years ago today humans landed on another celestial object for the first time. Here are a couple of videos about Apollo 11:

On The Space Show this afternoon, Rand Simberg and Bill Simon spoke about the Evoloterra ceremony to mark “The Story of When We First Left Earth“. My wife and I did the ceremony a couple of years ago with friends and really enjoyed it: Our Evoloterra evening.

  1. EVOLOTERRA CEREMONY DRAWS FROM THE PASSOVER CEREMONY BUT NEGLECTS TO CREDIT CONTRIBUTIONS BY RELIGION TO THE FORMATION OF CULTURE AND ITS PASSING DOWN VIA WRITTEN FORM AND COMPLETELY OMITS MENTION OF THE CREATIVE MYSTERY WHICH IS EMBODIED IN WHAT WE KNOW AS GOD. WE ARE THE PRODUCT OF THAT CULTURE WHICH DESERVES MENTION AND INCORPORATION INTO THE RITUAL. OTHER LONG FORGOTTEN CULTURES, PERHAPS EVEN SOURCED ELSEWHERE IN THIS UNIVERSE ARE LOST TO US, BUT WE, THE REMNANTS OF JUDAEO CHRISTIANITY HAVE JUST SENT NEW HORIZONS PAST PLUTO. AN UPDATE TO INCLUDE MARS LANDER EXPLORATION, AND ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM WOULD ALSO BE FITTING.
