Matthew Young – classic New Age reissues

Kathryn Wilson at Drag City Records tells me that they

are doing a super cool reissue of Matthew Young‘s Recurring Dreams on July 22nd. His acclaimed album, Traveler’s Advisory, was reissued just a couple of years back by yours truly in conjunction with Yoga Records (the guys who brought you the definitive compilation of New Age music – I Am The Center: Private Issue New Age In America, 1950 – 1990). Recurring Dreams is a really beautiful example of a forgotten New Age masterpiece and I think you’d be really interested in it.

Update: I should add that Matthew Young’s Recurring Dreams will be released by Drag City on July 22nd.

Video: ORBIT – compilation of ISS time lapse & air-to-ground audio

Selmesfilms has posted a new video:

ORBIT is ready for launch. Here our latest video compiled from more than 10GB of International Space Station footage. I recommend you watch this on the biggest screen possible in HD with the lights off and the sound up. If you are sensitive fast motion and flashing lights be warned the crescendo may make you feel a bit uneasy. Please keep your arms inside the vehicle at all time, buckle up and enjoy the ride. Please like, comment and share.

From the caption:

International Space Station ISS fly over earth time lapse in HD. Compilation of NASA time lapse footage and Astronaut / Cosmonaut space to ground audio communications.

Inspired by the work of David Peterson and others my goal was create an experience that allows us to marvel at wonders of this world from the unique perspective of only 370km above our heads. Audio recordings in English and Russian are taken from actual space to ground communications on the International Space Station. I have included the audio clips at the beginning and end to remind the audience of the humanity that inhabits the space station. I have kept audio and title distractions away from the major part of the footage to allow the visuals to speak for themselves.

“Space Probes” by ALBEDO – space music project

Doug Clyde sent me a message about his new space music album:

I’m a New Age Music Artist who records under the name ALBEDO. I just launched a campaign for my next album “Space Probes” to be released in August. It contains musical interpretations of select unmanned robotic spacecraft of achievement (Voyager 2, Galileo, etc.). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to my local planetarium to help out over 75,000 children each year!

His fund raising campaign for the project is at ALBEDO Space Probes. New Age Music Album. – Indiegogo
