Comet hunting in SOHO images: The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft monitors the sun and provides several types of imagery. One side benefit of this is that many small comets show up that were otherwise not visible from the earth. Over 1000 have now been found this way, many by hobbyists who love to comet hunt by the light of the sun.
