On the other hand, perhaps by using a\u00a0robot assistant as this artist does, a person can accomplish much more than they would on their own. This\u00a0in turn would greatly expand\u00a0the\u00a0types of products and services an individual or a small company can provide.<\/p>\n<p>Automation reduces the labor needed to provide\u00a0a particular product or\u00a0service. Along with economies of scale and other factors, this has been key to increasing productivity and raising our standard of living. New\u00a0types of products and services have always arisen to absorb\u00a0the labor freed up\u00a0as\u00a0older\u00a0industries became more automated.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no reason this process cannot continue.\u00a0For example,\u00a0instead of an artist and a robot scraping sand,\u00a0an entrepreneur and\u00a0a fast-moving, intelligent robot mower could cut\u00a0all the lawns in the neighborhood in a day\u00a0at\u00a0low-cost while doing enough lawns in total to make good money.<\/p>\n<p>There is essentially an infinity of services and products that can be created and sold. Robots will allow many that were too expensive or impractical\u00a0before to become affordable.
