The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/spaceinitiative.stanford.edu\/\" target=\"_d\" >Stanford Student Space Initiative<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/a\/umich.edu\/highaltitudesolutions\/home\" target=\"_d\" >Michigan Balloon Recovery and Satellite\u00a0Testbed\u00a0team<\/a>\u00a0invite you to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.balloonchallenge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" >Global Space Balloon Challenge<\/a>\u00a0(GSBC)! The\u00a0GSBC\u00a0is an international education outreach project to encourage people from around the world to build and launch their own high altitude balloons- teams from 12 countries from 6 continents have already signed up!<\/p>\n<p>Between April 18 &#8211; 21, 2014, teams from all over will launch balloons to the edge of space, recover them, and share the photos and data that they have collected. \u00a0No prior building experience is required \u2013 the project is targeted at new and experienced hobbyists alike \u2013 and\u00a0GSBC\u00a0organizers will guide you through every step of the process. The goal is to encourage people of all ages to get their hands dirty building their own space hardware, and to promote the spirit of hardware hacking and international STEM collaboration.
