The realization is starting to sink in that this will truly be a very minimal maximum in the solar cycle :\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/science-environment-25743806\" target=\"_d\">Is our Sun falling silent? &#8211; BBC (incl. video)<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"story_continues_1\">&#8220;I&#8217;ve been a solar physicist for 30 years, and I&#8217;ve never seen anything quite like this,&#8221; says Richard Harrison, head of space physics at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n<p>He shows me recent footage captured by spacecraft that have their sights trained on our star.
