{"id":4297,"date":"2013-09-04T16:07:33","date_gmt":"2013-09-04T16:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobbyspace.com\/Blog\/?p=4297"},"modified":"2013-09-04T16:07:33","modified_gmt":"2013-09-04T16:07:33","slug":"leadership-change-at-the-space-frontier-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hobbyspace.com\/Blog\/?p=4297","title":{"rendered":"Leadership change at the Space Frontier Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>A message from the <a href=\"http:\/\/spacefrontier.org\/\" target=\"_d\">Space Frontier Foundation<\/a>:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Space Frontier Foundation Announces New Leadership <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The Next Generation Will Lead the Fight for Their Future in Space<\/em><\/div>\n<p><strong>Nyack, NY<\/strong> &#8211; The Space Frontier Foundation today announced several changes within its senior leadership team, in order to accelerate its transformation of space from a bureaucratic government program into a dynamic and open frontier for all.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Card, Executive Director, has elected to step down from his day to day responsibilities. \u00a0In his place, Board of Directors member James Pura has been appointed President, and James Tumber will become Vice President. \u00a0Together, Pura &amp; Tumber will report directly to the Board of Directors, led by Chairman Bob Werb.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;For 25 years, we have continuously re-invented ourselves in the Foundation.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve always been willing to shake things up &#8220;inside&#8221; as well as advocating real change in space,&#8221; said Foundation Co-Founder Jim Muncy. &#8220;With these two young leaders at the helm, I know that the torch we lit in 1988 is in good hands and will continue to point the way to a better future in space.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ih.constantcontact.com\/fs160\/1101309911800\/img\/230.jpg\" width=\"107\" height=\"160\" name=\"ACCOUNT.IMAGE.230\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/strong> James Pura, 29, has years of experience in the aerospace industry, including working at NASA&#8217;s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Boeing, and Space Exploration Technologies. Within the Foundation, Pura has Co-Chaired some of our most successful NewSpace Conferences and serves as Advocates Coordinator.
