HTV-9 was released using the Canadarm2 robotic arm by NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy. The spacecraft is scheduled to deorbit and burn over the Pacific Ocean on 20 August 2020. Kounotori 9 (\u3053\u3046\u306e\u3068\u308a9), meaning white stork in Japanese, delivered a total of 6.2 metric tons of supplies, including six new lithium-ion batteries, to the ISS.
