After launch to orbit on an Indian rocket, the team at the NRI Institute of Technology (NRIIT) at Agiripalli in Krishna district will upload their country&#8217;s national anthem to the demonstration spacecraft: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/andhra-pradesh\/satellite-built-by-students-to-beam-anthem-from-space\/article30415698.ece\" target=\"_d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Satellite built by students to beam anthem from space &#8211; The Hindu<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cThe satellite will start functioning once put in orbit. Antennas fixed to \u2018Kesari\u2019 will beam the anthem in Morse code as high-frequency radio waves. The anthem can be heard by ham radio operators and on walkie talkies across the world,\u201d Mr. Salvendar told\u00a0The Hindu\u00a0on Friday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Mr. Manoj Kumar said that \u2018Kesari\u2019 will have a lifespan of more than six months if equipped with solar panels. He thanked faculty Sk. Abdul Rehaman and the institute management for encouraging them in designing the mini satellite.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>NRIIT Placement Cell director N.V. Surendra Babu said that Mr. Salvendar and his team designed the 450-gram satellite in just 45 days. The students said they drew inspiration from Sputnik-1 designed by Russian scientists.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>** <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PocketQube\">PocketQubes<\/a> will enable satellite projects for educational and non-profit organizations<\/strong> at even lower costs than CubeSats.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fossa.systems\/fossasat-1\/\" target=\"_d\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FOSSASAT-1<\/a>, for example, is a PocketQube demo mission <a href=\"https:\/\/fossa.systems\/2019\/12\/08\/fossasat-1-launched\/\">recently launched<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/fossa.systems\/\">Fossa Systems<\/a> on a Rocket Lab Electron rocket.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>FossaSat is a pocketqube satellite which is being developed using free and open source ethics, more detailed information about the hardware and software involved in this project can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Bambofy\/FossaSat-1\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>It will create the world\u2019s first free and open source IoT network.
