Donations will go to support the Institute&#8217;s\u00a0research, outreach and education.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Many thanks to the more than 300 donors who helped us reach our $50,000 goal!\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/163858250?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the events to highlight\u00a0the campaign was a panel discussion on the question, <em><strong>When Will We Find Life Beyond Earth?<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0SETI Institute panelists included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nathalie Cabrol, Director of the Carl Sagan Center<\/li>\n<li>Seth Shostak, Senior Astronomer<\/li>\n<li>Mark Showalter, Senior Research Scientist<\/li>\n<li>Fergal Mullaly, Senior Research Scientist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From the caption:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Is this the generation that will discover extraterrestrial life? Some scientists have opined that we\u2019ll find other living beings \u2013 whether they be microbes on other planets or intelligent beings in another star system \u2013 within two decades. An energetic panel of SETI Institute astrobiologists will discuss why both science and technology give support to the idea that we may soon prove that Earth is not the only world where life has arisen.
