It was filmed on a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/S7AirlinesOfficial\/\">S7 Airlines<\/a>\u00a0aircraft flying a series of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reduced_gravity_aircraft\" target=\"_blank\">parabolic trajectories<\/a>, which\u00a0provide periods of 20-25\u00a0seconds of weightlessness.<\/p>\n<p>[ <strong>Update<\/strong>: This is the third video link I&#8217;ve\u00a0posted here. However, articles about the video say it was actually shot in one continuous take. The band members and stewardess actors steadfastly\u00a0stood or sat upright and tolerated\u00a0the extra weight without changing their expressions. It took a lot of planning and practice to make this video.<\/p>\n<p>[ <strong>Update 2<\/strong>: Yep, that&#8217;s what they did:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stereogum.com\/1858765\/behind-the-scenes-of-ok-gos-zero-gravity-upside-down-inside-out-video\/video\/\">Behind-The-Scenes Of OK Go\u2019s Zero Gravity \u201cUpside Down &amp; Inside Out\u201d Video &#8211; Stereogum<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>An Il-76 MDK airplane is capable of flying in parabolic maneuvers to generate brief periods of weightlessness, but these periods only last up to 27 seconds, and the song is over three minutes long. \u201cBecause we wanted the video to be a single, uninterrupted routine, we shot continuously over the course of eight consecutive weightless periods, which took about 45 minutes, total,\u201d explains Trish Sie, who directed the clip with her brother, OK Go frontman Damien Kulash, Jr.\u00a0\u201cWe paused the action, and the music, during the non-weightless periods, and then cut out these sections and smoothed over each transition with a morph.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong>: Watching the video again, it is obvious that it was not a continuous take. One can see where a weightless period ends and then immediately continues\u00a0into another weightless segment.
