Many space advocates would like to see permanent human settlements on the Moon and Mars. However, no one knows if it is possible to live healthfully for long periods of time in gravity that is 16%\u00a0(Moon) or 38% (Mars) of what we experience here\u00a0on the surface of earth.<\/p>\n
The following\u00a0video from the Space Studies Institute<\/a> (SSI)\u00a0shows a talk given by\u00a0Gary Hudson<\/a> at the Space Access Society<\/a>‘s annual meeting last May<\/a>\u00a0in which he discussed\u00a0the need\u00a0to do partial gravity studies in orbit to\u00a0investigate partial gravity questions. He discusses\u00a0SSI’s proposed\u00a0G-Lab<\/a>, a\u00a0facility in earth orbit\u00a0that\u00a0would rotate at different rates so as to generate artificial spin-gravity\u00a0at levels of interest for animal and human studies:\u00a0SSI G-Lab at Space Access 2015 – Space Studies Institute<\/a><\/p>\n
