A\u00a0SpaceUp<\/a>\u00a0event is a\u00a0space unconference<\/p>\n

where participants decide the topics, schedule, and structure of the event. Unconferences have been held about technology, science, transit, and even cupcakes, but this is the first one focused on space exploration.<\/em><\/p>\n

SpaceUp is your unconference<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone who attends SpaceUp is encouraged to give a talk, moderate a panel, or start a discussion. Sessions are proposed and scheduled on the day they\u2019re given, which means the usual \u201challway conversations\u201d turn into full-fledged topics.<\/em><\/p>\n

Since the first SpaceUp in San Diego in 2010, there have been dozens of SpaceUp events around the world. See the list of past and future\u00a0SpaceUp events here:\u00a0SpaceUp Near You –\u00a0SpaceUp<\/a><\/p>\n

To encourage the organization of even more SpaceUp meetings, the SpaceUp Foundation\u00a0has been\u00a0formed to provide advice and some initial funding to help organizers get an event off the ground.<\/p>\n

The SpaceUp Foundation is holding a crowdfunding campaign to support five events this year:\u00a0Sci-Five: 5 New SpaceUps for 2015 by SpaceUp Foundation \u2014 Kickstarter<\/a><\/p>\n
