Space Florida supports teacher and student ZERO-G flights
Got this news release from
Space Florida today:
Space Florida Continues “Out Of This World” Education
Kennedy Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility
Leading Intellectual Home of “Future Space” For Florida Teachers and Students
Kennedy Space Center, FL – January 7, 2008 – Space Florida announced today its second year of commitment to Florida schools and universities by sponsoring microgravity flights that promote content knowledge of physics and space while advocating aerospace and science education statewide.
“Space Florida has for the past year provided teachers and students of Florida the same access to microgravity that astronauts train in everyday,” states Steve Kohler, President, Space Florida. “Through Space Florida’s sponsorships, students in Middle and High Schools, undergraduates from 13 colleges and universities, interns, researchers, and teachers soar to new heights as they experience zero gravity and its effects, and conduct live research. These inquiry-based and hands-on activities are just the beginning of opportunities that make their unmistakable imprint on teaching, grooming, and preparing space leadership today…for tomorrow.”
