"Vibrations" -- it's pogo, isn't it. Funny, back in the day it was the liquid rocket engines that suffered from pogo oscillations, and the solids had the rotary oscillation problems.

This vibration problem is not a minor or easily fixed problem like the pogo oscillation on the saturn V.
This should be the last nail in the coffin for the stick as it just seems to have one issue after another a smart person would abandon the design at this point.
If Griffin has any common sense he would ax ares I after this and look for an alternative I suggest direct launcher or the 35T regen RS68 upgrade delta IV heavy.
Switching launch vehicles at this point will not cause any serious delays in the case of the two I propose the switch might even cut 2 to 3 years of the development time schedule.

pogo is something different.

pogo is a mechanical feedback into the propulsion
system,

vibration is just output from the combustion
process shaking the structure.

Yep it's not easy to fix like pogo.

I see. Thanks for the clarification. Still, I think it would be amusing if "The stick" had "pogo".
