Red Whittaker's lunar rover company will seek sponsorships to raise the 75 million dollars they need to launch in July 2009: Robotics Professor Pushing Ad Supported Moon Landing - Wired. The Google Lunar Prize is $20M but they expect to build a business around sales of the high definition video.

Between their significant ISS laboratory assets and recent interplanetary exploration, I think Japan has an under-appreciated space program.

Hopefully a Japanese entrepreneur will leverage technology derived from the H-II Transfer Vehicle to provide space transportation to Bigelow facilities.
