Suborbital RLV flights essential to researcher

I mentioned last night that three experiments had been selected as the first to fly on Blue Origin's Shepard VTOL vehicle. Here is an article about one of the researchers: UCF Space Experiment to Fly on New Rocket Ship - Univ. of Central Florida (via spacetoday.net).

I've been promoting the idea of science on the suborbital vehicles since I started this blog so this is music to my ears:
“Flights into space are limited,” said University of Central Florida Associate Professor Joshua Colwell. “This is an excellent opportunity to gather additional data that can only be obtained from these kinds of flights and which is essential for our research to move forward.”

Plus, suborbital flights have access to regions of the atmosphere (if this is an aspect of one's research) that orbital flights essentially don't...
