Big amateur rocket launch in Alberta
Eric Weder passes info about a recent rocket launch event at Sullivan Lake 16 south of Lethbridge, Alberta.
One flight was an 'N' motor, Mach 2.7 to 38,000 feet, when recovered the rocket showed some serious friction heating damage to the carbon fiber fins and the heads of the nylon shear bolts. Another was the first full "O" class motor launched by amateurs in Canada, 180 pounds, Mach 1.2 to 17,000 feet.
